Sunday Gospel: September 26,2010 - Luke 16:19-31

Jesus said to the Pharisees:
"There was a rich man who dressed in purple garments and fine linen
and dined sumptuously each day.
And lying at his door was a poor man named Lazarus, covered with sores,
who would gladly have eaten his fill of the scraps
that fell from the rich man's table.
Dogs even used to come and lick his sores.
When the poor man died,
he was carried away by angels to the bosom of Abraham.
The rich man also died and was buried,
and from the netherworld, where he was in torment,
he raised his eyes and saw Abraham far off
and Lazarus at his side.
And he cried out, 'Father Abraham, have pity on me.
Send Lazarus to dip the tip of his finger in water and cool my tongue,
for I am suffering torment in these flames.'
Abraham replied,
'My child, remember that you received
what was good during your lifetime
while Lazarus likewise received what was bad;
but now he is comforted here, whereas you are tormented.
Moreover, between us and you a great chasm is established
to prevent anyone from crossing who might wish to go
from our side to yours or from your side to ours.'
He said, 'Then I beg you, father,
send him to my father's house, for I have five brothers,
so that he may warn them,
lest they too come to this place of torment.'
But Abraham replied, 'They have Moses and the prophets.
Let them listen to them.'
He said, 'Oh no, father Abraham,
but if someone from the dead goes to them, they will repent.'
Then Abraham said, 'If they will not listen to Moses and the prophets,
neither will they be persuaded if someone should rise from the dead.'"

Đạo Đức Chúa Trời có 10 điều răn

Thứ 1: Thờ phượng một Đức Chúa Trời và kính mến Người trên hết mọi sự

Thứ 2: Chớ kêu tên Đức Chúa Trời vô cớ

Thứ 3: Giữ ngày Chúa Nhật

Thứ 4: Thảo kính cha mẹ

Thứ 5: Chớ giết người

Thứ 6: Chớ làm sự dâm dục

Thứ 7: Chớ lấy của người

Thứ 8: Chớ làm chứng dối

Thứ 9: Chớ muốn vợ chồng người

Thứ 10: Chớ tham của người

Mười điều răn ấy tóm về 2 này mà nhớ: trước kính mến một Đức Chúa Trời trên hết mọi sự, sau lại yêu người như mình ta vậy. Amen.

1. I am the Lord your God....You shall have no other gods besides me

2. You shall not take the name of the Lord your God in vain

3. Remember to keep the Sabbath day holy

4. Honor your father and your mother

5. You shall not kill

6. You shall not commit adultery

7. You shall not steal

8. You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor

9. You shall not covet your neighbor's wife

10. You shall not covet your neighbor's goods

Of the Ten commandments, these are the two most important: Worship God above all other; love others as you love yourself. Amen.

Kinh Tám Mối Phúc Thật – The Beautitudes

Thứ 1: Ai có lòng khó khăn, ấy là phúc thật, vì chưng nước Đức Chúa Trời là của mình vậy.

Thứ 2: Ai hiền lành, ấy là phúc thật, vì chưng sẽ được Đất Đức Chúa Trời làm của mình vậy.

Thứ 3: Ai khóc lóc, ấy là phúc thật, vì chưng sẽ được yên ủi vậy.

Thứ 4: Ai khao khát nhân đức trọn lành, ấy là phúc thật, vì chưng sẽ được no đủ vậy.

Thứ 5: Ai thương xót người, ấy là phúc thật, vì chưng sẽ được thương xót vậy.

Thứ 8: Ai chịu khốn nạn vì đạo ngay, ấy là phúc thật, vì chưng nước Đức Chúa Trời là của mình vậy

1. Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

2. Blessed are the meek for they shall possess the land

3. Blessed are they that mourn, for they shall be comforted

4. Blessed are they that hunger and thirst after justice, for they shall be filled

5. Blessed are the merciful, for they shall obtain mercy

6. Blessed are the clean of heart, for they shall see God

7. Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called the children of God

8. Blessed are they that suffer persecution for justice’s sake, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

Kinh Ăn Năn Tội – The Act of Contrition

Lạy Chúa con, Chúa là Đấng trọn tốt trọn lành vô cùng. Chúa đã dựng nên con, và cho Con Chúa ra đời, chịu nạn chịu chết vì con, mà con đã cả lòng phản nghịch lỗi nghĩa cùng Chúa, thì con lo buồn đau đớn, cùng chê ghét mọi tội con trên hết mọi sự; con dốc lòng chừa cải, và nhờ ơn Chúa thì con sẽ lánh xa dịp tội cùng làm việc đền tội cho xứng. Amen

O my God, I am heartily sorry for having offended You and I detest all my sins, because I dread the loss of Heaven and the pains of hell, but most of all because they offend You, my God, who are all good and deserving of all my love. I firmly resolve, with the help of Your grace, to confess my sins, to do penance and

to amend my life. Amen

Kinh Cậy – The Act of Hope

Lạy Chúa con, con trông cậy vững vàng, vì công nghiệp Đức Chúa Giêsu thì Chúa sẽ ban ơn cho con giữ đạo nên ở đời này, cho ngày sau được lên thiên đàng xem thấy mặt Đức Chúa Trời hưởng phúc đời đời, vì Chúa là đấng phép tắc và lòng lành vô cùng đã phán hứa sự ấy chẳng có lẽ nào sai được. Amen.

O God, I hope with complete trust that you will give me, through the merits of Jesus Christ, all the necessary grace in the world and everlasting life in the world to come, for this is what you have promised and you
always keep your promises. Amen.

Kinh Tin – The Act of Faith

Lạy Chúa con, con tim thật có một Đức Chúa Trời là Đấng thưởng phạt vô cùng. Con lại tin thật Đức Chúa Trời có Ba Ngôi, mà Ngôi Thứ Hai đã xuống thế làm người, chịu nạn chịu chết mà chuộc tội thiên hạ Bấy nhiêu điều ấy cùng các điều Hội Thánh dạy thì con tin vững vàng, vì Chúa là Đấng thông minh và chân thật vô cùng đã phán truyền cho Hội Thánh. Amen.

O God, I firmly believe all the truths that you have revealed and that you teach us through your Church, for you are truth itself and can neither deceive nor be deceived. Amen.

Kinh Tin Kính – Apostles’ Creed

I believe in God, the Father Almighty, Creator of Heaven and earth;
and in Jesus Christ, His only Son Our Lord, Who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried. He descended into Hell; the third day He rose again from the dead; He ascended into Heaven, and sitteth at the right hand of God, the Father almighty; from thence He shall come to judge the living and the dead.   I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy Catholic Church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body and life everlasting.   Amen.

Tôi tin kính Đức Chúa Trời là Cha phép tắc vô cùng dựng nên trời đất. Tôi tin kính Đức Chúa GiêSu Kitô là con một Đức Chúa Cha cùng là Chúa chúng tôi; bởi phép Đức Chúa Thánh Thần mà người xuống thai, sinh bởi Bà Maria đồng trinh: chịu nạn đời quan Phong-xi-ô Phi-la-tô, chịu đóng đanh trên cây Thánh Giá, chết và táng xác, xuống ngục tổ tông, ngày thứ ba bởi trong kẻ chết sống lại; lên trời ngự bên hữu Đức Chúa Cha phép tắc vô cùng; ngày sau bởi trời lại xuống phán xét kẻ sống và kẻ chết. Tôi tin kính Đức Chúa Thánh Thần. Tôi tin có hội Thánh hằng có ở khắp thế này, các Thánh thông công. Tôi tin phép tha tội tôi tin xác loài người ngày sau sống lại. Tôi tin hằng sống vậy, Amen.
